Hinting
From DejaVu
Tools
The process of hinting (TrueType instructing) is not easy and our preferred tool FontForge has no support for it. Below is a list of some utilities that can help in this process:
- TrueType/OpenType Tools by Rogier van Dalen
- ftview utility from FreeType demo package
- waterfall program by Keith Packard (see http://www.gnome.org/fonts/ for instructions how to get it)
- gwaterfall is improved Gtk version of waterfall
- xgridfit is a simple program that implements an XML-based language hinting.
